I’m Denny, or Diz, as I’ve been known to most of my friends since my college years. I answer to both, so whichever name you fancy is fine with me.
I currently live in Lakeland, FL, though I’m a Michigander at heart. (At least during the summer, Michigan winters are kind of rough!)
I have an awesome wife, a one year old girl, and two dogs that help keep me busy. I also own DK FitSolutions, which provides personal training instruction to clients in their home or other convenient location.
But what I’d really love is to make my living from this website.
It might happen, sh’yah right, and monkey’s might fly out of my butt.
(Bonus cool points to anyone that gets that.)
The Diz Runs Backstory
When I had the idea of starting this website, I had grand dreams of becoming one of the big and popular running bloggerss. I was going to have thousands of visitors a day, talk about running until I was blue in the face, and hopefully find a way to make some money doing so.
Turns out, that didn’t work so well.
The blog space is crowded with so many awesome running blogs, that it’s been really hard to create a following. And just when I was starting to make a little headway, I decided to not create a new post for like 2 months.
Smooth move, I know.
The Diz Runs With Podcast
I started podcasting for my business in February of 2014, and I fell in love with the process.
While I’m not a huge extrovert in social settings, I’ve always loved the idea of being on the radio. Hosting my own podcast is the next best thing to being on the air, and some would argue that in a few years it will be even better, so I looked into bringing a running-themed podcast to the space.
The “Diz Runs With…” podcast launched in July of 2014, and the idea behind the show is quite simple–I go on a “run” with my guests, and each episode is simply the type of conversation that we would have if we were sharing the road or the trail for a handful of easy miles.
Whether the guest is a pro, celebrity, or “regular person” like you and me, the conversations are free flowing covering running, life and everything in between.
At the end of the day, each episode is a laid back and relaxed conversation that typically lasts between 45 minutes and an hour.
By signing up, you’ll get regular emails keeping you up to date regarding future guests for the show, my progress on my way to joining the 50 State club, tips and tricks to stay injury free, and much, much more.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my site, I’d love to know what you think! Leave me a comment, shoot me a tweet (@dizruns), or send me a smoke signal and I’ll get back to you soon.
Keep running y’all!
