Diz Runs With… Amy Hughes
On this episode of the Diz Runs With podcast, I’m chatting with Amy Hughes who recently completed an astounding 53 marathons in 53 different cities in 53 days!

Amy Hughes
Obviously that’s a pretty amazing feat, but what is most incredible to me is that she did all this running for causes way bigger than any person! Her mission was two-fold, to bring attention to the importance of physical activity for children and to raise awareness and funding for the Isabelle Lottie Foundation. We talked a lot about 53 in 53, but we covered a few other things as well. Here are some of the highlights of our conversation:
- Running her first long race–the LA Marathon!
- How the idea of running 26.2 miles a day, for 53 straight days, came about.
- Figuring out how to run the proper distance every day, without running any official races
- Why she really didn’t train for this incredible endeavor.
- The emotions and feelings on day 54.
- How she was able to make time in her “real life” for running 53 days straight.
