Christian Griffith Is Making His Message Heard One Mile At A Time

Christian Griffith is not your typical ultra runner.

His extensive resume not only includes over 100 marathon or ultra distance events but also the World’s Toughest Mudder event, American Ninja Warrior, and a History Channel series that pushed his seemingly endless limits.

In the near future, Christian is about to run 3000 miles for a cause that is very personal for him.

Unconventional Start

Life before running used to mean long hours at work and a sedentary lifestyle.

The book Ultra Marathon Man by Dean Karnazes was the catalyst to Christian changing the direction his life was headed.

Christian thrives on challenges and ran his first marathon the same year he discovered running.

Obstacle course races were yet another way for him to test his limits.

It was through a History Channel documentary that he truly pushed himself to the edge.

Christian Griffith: One of Four Finishers

Toughness In His Genes

Christian attributes his fortitude to his grandfather, who served in the special forces in WW2.

It should come as no surprise that Christian opted to participate in a documentary series titled, “The Selection: Special Operations Experiment.”

Being the oldest competitor didn’t stop him from being only one of four finishers.

A large part of his success was due to his mindset.

Going into the competition he decided he would NOT quit regardless of what he was faced with.

It was this strength that helped him to face his demons and share his story in order to help others.

Dark Past Helped To Shape a Bright Future

Christian is very open about the sexual abuse he endured as a child.

As a way to raise awareness and donations for Help for Children, he will be running 3000 miles across the country.

Help for Children is an organization that aids in the prevention and treatment of child abuse.

The ultimate goal of his trek across the country is to raise one million dollars to help combat child abuse and aid in treatment for the victims.

Christian has a message for survivors of abuse:

  • You are not alone.
  • Talking about the abuse will help get rid of the fears.
  • Keep fighting, because you deserve to heal.
  • Don’t be afraid to get help.
  • Therapy is the only way out.
