Dane Rauschenberg has Done His Research on the Best Races Around
Today I am going a few easy miles with Dane Rauschenberg.

Dane Rauschenberg
We first spoke three years ago and this will be his third time on the show.
A lot has happened since we last spoke including the publication of his most recent book.
Loud And Clear
Dane has been running for over 15 years and has formed strong viewpoints on various related and not so related topics.
According to Dane, racing and running are two separate entities.
A person can enjoy doing both, but he only signs up for a race with the intention of giving his all.
Effort impresses him far more than talent.
His blog is a direct reflection of his current thoughts and he isn’t afraid of offending someone.
He stands by what he says and encourages people to judge him based on the people that dislike him.
Dane’s interest’s have ebbed and flowed over the years and his newest book reflects the various races and distances he has run.

Run This Place
With so many races available it can be challenging to choose a quality one.
Dane’s newest book, Run This Place: 52 Must Run Races In North America, is his solution to the problem.
The book is compiled of races ranging from 1 mile and up in distance.
He only includes races that he has personally run.
A good overall experience is important along with numerous other factors.
The race descriptions in the book include specific details that are pertinent to choosing the race along with some humor added in.
Weather has played a large role in the races Dane chooses.
A person is more likely to have a fast race on a non-fast course in ideal weather, whereas the opposite is not usually true.
