Diz Runs Radio Celebrates Five Years With the Woman Behind the Scenes

My wife Rebekah, will be joining me on the show today to help celebrate a big milestone for Diz Runs Radio.

July 1st, 2019 marked 5 years since the first Diz Runs podcast was first aired and to celebrate we will take a little look back and a little look forward to what’s to come.

Today I will be going a few easy miles with Rebekah, the woman behind the scenes and without her, the show wouldn’t be where it is today.

An Idea is Born

According to Beks, I have a near-constant influx of ideas that grow and morph daily.

The idea to start the Diz Runs With podcast began 5 years ago.

First Draft of Podcast Artwork

Ironically the “birth” of his show coincided with the birth of our daughter.

Rebekah doesn’t recall much about the early days of the show due to “being really hot and really pregnant.”

In the early days of the show, I balanced my full-time job along with his goal to expand his podcast.

Rebekah first realized that the podcast was turning into something serious when I was able to quit my other job to focus on the show.

The “Real” Denny

The ease at which I talk to guests on the show does not come as natural to me as you might think.

Though I now talk for a living, Rebekah claims (rightly) that I don’t talk as much when I’m not on the show.

Anyone who knew me before the show would have (probably) never guessed I would host a podcast for a living.

Entrepreneurial Spirit

For as long as Rebekah has known me, I’ve never been truly happy working for others.

Rebekah was happy that I took the risk to jump on the podcast when I did.

Over the past 5 years, there has never been a point where Rebekah wanted me to get a “real” job.

She has seen how working for myself has increased my happiness immensely.

I always have new ideas on how to improve the brand and grow the business.

Some changes that may be happening in the future are dropping down to 2 shows a week and possibly starting a YouTube channel.

In addition to the potential changes on the horizon with the show, I’ve also begun working on book number 2.

Diz Runs Radio has grown and evolved over the past 5 years, but the one thing that hasn’t changed is the support of my wife to the success of the show.

Without her, there is no show.
