How to Eat an Elephant and Keep Your 2015 Resolutions

There are no shortage of adages out there designed to help you stay the course and make incremental progress when you’re working on tackling a big goal.

The hardest part of being successful when chasing down big goals is often simply staying the course. On January 1st, it’s easy to set big goals for the new year. If you read my post from yesterday, you know that I’ve got some big goals for myself in 2015.

There is no way that I will be able to accomplish any of those goals in a few weeks. Or even a few months. But by the end of the year, if I keep making steady progress, there is no reason that I can’t be successful with all of my goals.

Whether or not you made any resolutions yesterday, there is a good chance there is something that you’re working on that is a big picture/long term kind of project. It could be running related or it could be something completely removed from running.

Whatever you are working towards, whatever your goal is, there is no reason that you can’t be successful. Oftentimes, the biggest hurdle to your own success, New Year’s Resolution or otherwise, is yourself.

So get out of your own way.

If you keep moving forward, keep making small progress and don’t give up, there is nothing that can prevent you from reaching the goals/resolutions that you have set for yourself, this year and beyond.
