Jeffrey James Binney is Running Leadville & That’s No Joke!

On today’s show, I’m joining comedian/actor Jeffrey James Binney for a few easy miles. Jeffrey has taken up running in an attempt to lose weight, improve his health, and push himself to new limits.

Jeffrey James Binney Is Changing His Life and Making a Move at the Same Time

Jeffrey James Binney

And the catalyst to making these changes in his life? Losing his mom at the age of 58 to heart disease brought about by obesity. At 330+ pounds he didn’t want to go down the same path with his health, and he started running.

He started slow, and built up, and now he is training for the Leadville 100. We covered a variety of topics on this episode, but here are some of the highlights.

  • In addition to the exercise, he also changed his eating habits dramatically by becoming a vegan
  • Why he’s always loved running on the trails
  • Why he’s choosing to make his ultra debut with the Leadville 100
  • Creating a film around his journey and the preparation for the race
  • Our mutual disdain for running on a treadmill
  • How losing weight and becoming more active has helped him in other areas of his life

Jeffery has an inspiring story. I can relate to a lot he talks about being an overweight man who runs. I like to run in the local park where there are less cars and less people for the same reasons he runs in the woods, not having to worry about others watching you. I do like to wear earbuds though…heck…that’s when I listened to this podcast! Thanks Diz!

Thanks for listening Big Man! And keep doing what you’re doing! Haters are going to hate no matter what, but what you’re doing (and what everyone that is running/being physically active is doing) is adding years to your life AND life to your years! Keep it up!
