Jenn Reichle Credits Running And Disney For Improved Mental Health

My guest today has combined her love for Disney along with her love for running.

We are recording on location at the Coronado Springs Resort before the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend.

I am looking forward to going a few easy miles with Jenn Reichle today.

Jenn Reichle and Denny

Always an Athlete, Never a Runner

Jenn Reichle has been an athlete since she can remember.

Though she loved being active, she never got into running until recently.

Basketball and mixed martial arts are what she focused on and was passionate about.

In 2015, Jenn’s focus shifted when she heard about RunDisney.

Jenn had never considered running, but her love for all things Disney made her consider signing up for a race.

It has been a slippery slope ever since and in the past 5 years, Jenn has run countless races.

Disney Is Her Happy Place

Jenn’s love of Disney began long before she even started running.

As a child, she vacationed at Disney and as an adult spent her honeymoon there.

So it was fitting that Disney was where Jenn’s running journey first began and continues to evolve.

As someone that has struggled with mental health, Disney and running have both helped in that area of her life.

Though Jenn has run the same races multiple times, each experience is unique and keeps her coming back.

Jenn never expected to also find a supportive community at the RunDisney races.

Her connection with other runners she met at Disney has turned into life-long friendships.

Always Evolving and Looking Ahead

This year Jenn has found herself focusing on improving her performance, where in the past she ran solely for fun.

There are always races on her calendar to keep her motivated.

The majority of races are at Disney, but she also includes some local races as well.

Running so many Disney races has meant that Jenn is required to travel.

Over the years she has picked up numerous helpful travel tips.

One of the most important things that Jenn does while traveling is to move around frequently to keep her legs loose.

Taking her bags with her on the plane have helped her to avoid lost luggage.

Jenn encourages anyone that has considered a RunDisney race to try it once.
