Jill Angie Is Not Your Average Runner and Neither Are You

Jill Angie is an author, coach, and runner who recently added podcast host to her already full schedule.

Jill Angie

Today I’m going a few easy miles with a woman that promotes the belief that anyone can be a runner.

Jill is spreading her message that there is no such thing as an average runner.

Not Your Average Runner

Jill’s first encounter with running was as a means to lose weight.

She faced countless obstacles as a plus size woman in a community that appeared to be filled with shapes smaller than her.

Her love affair with running was rocky at first and was on again/off again for the first 10 years.

In working with a personal trainer she learned to appreciate what her body could do in the moment.

After years of spectating at her husband’s IronMan Triathlons, she set out to do a sprint tri.

This was a pivotal moment for her when she realized she belonged there just as much as anyone else.

A New Path

Jill’s realization became her new mission.

She wanted women to discover what they could do with the body they had now, not the one they hoped to shape through running.

She quit her job and started a new career path as a trainer and coach.

Through her personal interactions with clients, she was able to make positive changes in their lives and mentalities.

Her message could only reach so far and she dreamed of connecting with the masses.

A chance encounter led to Jill beginning her career as an author.

Quiet Your Inner Mean Girl

Jill’s two books, “Running With Curves,” and “Not Your Average Runner,” both have a similar focus.

Being a plus size women in society, Jill is very familiar with her inner mean girl.

With her books she hopes to help women get out of their heads and realize what they’re capable of.

Her podcast is yet another avenue for her to inspire her audience to start moving and see what is possible.

As a coach she encourages her clients to slow down and enjoy the run.

If you can dream something you can do it.
