Julia Chi Taylor Went Barefoot and Hasn’t Looked Back
Today I am going a few easy miles with Julia Chi Taylor.
Julia’s running journey has evolved greatly over the years, going from a highly ranked runner to now embracing barefoot running.

Barefoot Runner Julia Chi Taylor
Her next big challenge will span a couple months and many miles all for a cause that’s close to her heart.
Barefoot Wasn’t the Answer, But Part Of the Process
Julia has only been running exclusively barefoot for about a year and the process hasn’t exactly been without challenges.
In her younger years, she encountered her share of injuries.
After reading Born To Run, she decided to give the barefoot method a try.
The first few attempts she found herself doing too much too soon and wasn’t successful.
Once she took the pressure off herself, she found it to be quite natural and slowly worked her way into it.

Julia Chi Taylor Running at the Beach
Her running history made her a good candidate for going sans shoes:
- She was born in Africa and ran barefoot growing up.
- Forefoot running came naturally to her.
- She always ran in light shoes which made the transition easier.
Trusting the process and embracing patience is key to any successful endeavor.

End of life care shouldn’t be an afterthought and she wants to make sure of that.
Her run will span about 84 miles per week over the course of 7 weeks if all goes according to plan.
