Krissy Shreeve Brings The Humorous Side Of Running To Her Podcast

Podcast host, runner, wife, and mom of two are a few of the things that make for very little spare time for my guest on the show.

Krissy Shreeve on Race Day

Krissy Shreeve is very similar to many women who manage to somehow balance family life, work, and training for all the races.

Today we will go a few easy miles as she shares how to balance it all successfully while not taking herself too seriously.

NYC Or Bust

Krissy didn’t always enjoy running, even going out of her way to avoid it while younger.

Her passion for running all began 6 years ago while living in Austin, Texas.

In an effort to shed some excess weight, she opted to go for a run one day.

A quarter mile run/walk eventually evolved into 4 to 5 miles a few days a week.

Only 2 months into running, she signed up for her first half marathon and shortly after her first marathon followed.

Her marathon didn’t go as planned when she made the decision to DNF only to find out later she was pregnant at the time.

A DNF didn’t stop her from covering the marathon distance during a solo run after her disappointing outcome.

The NYC Marathon Fall of 2018 will be her first “official” marathon.

Krissy is a firm believer that regardless of whether 26.2 miles is completed in while training or racing, covering the distance makes you a marathoner.

A Passion For Podcasting

Krissy was familiar with the broadcasting industry, having worked in radio for a few years.

Getting back into the field was always her ultimate goal.

While pregnant, she decided to try to create her own running podcast.

“A Bad Case of the Runs,” was born and launched this past year.

The podcast is running focused but just as the name implies she doesn’t take herself too seriously and has fun with the sport.

The interaction between herself and her listeners is her favorite part of the podcasting.

While being a podcast host is her passion, she can’t devote all her time to it.

Being smart with her scheduling and balancing her responsibilities allows her to fit it all in.
