Lyndsey Fraser is Fueled By Big Goals in Life and on the Trails

Today I’ll be going a few easy trail miles with Lyndsey Fraser.

Lyndsey Fraser

Lyndsey is definitely at home on the trails, whether she’s running or on her mountain bike.

As a goal oriented person, Lyndsey shares what is driving her in the future.

The Draw Of Distance

Running was always a part of Lyndsey’s life growing up, but the draw to go farther was always pulling her.

The longest events in high school and college athletics was the 10k.

As a junior in college, Lyndsey gave in to her desire to go long and signed up for the Philadelphia Marathon.

Lyndsey’s success while running in high school and college was always measured by the clock.

It didn’t take long before she was drawn to the trails due to the relaxed mentality of trail running.

Mentally she found it better to compete against herself rather than the clock.

On trails, unlike the road or track, there was no shame in walking or power hiking up hills.

While a 50k is her favorite distance she won’t rule out going longer in the future.

Big Goals, Big Results

As a goal oriented person, big goals don’t scare Lyndsey.

Lyndsey competed in the XTERRA Trail series and placed in the top 5 females overall.

Weather that wasn’t ideal combined with challenging terrain made her high finish even more impressive.

Along with challenging herself with her running goals, she’s also taking the leap to go back to school and follow her dream.

This fall Lyndsey will be headed to grad school with the goal of becoming an occupational therapist.

With a background in exercise science, Lyndsey wanted to expand on that and help people beyond exercise alone.

Her knowledge about the body and its mechanics have helped with her training and cross training along with many others.

Longevity in this sport is important to Lyndsey because it has allowed her to see more places and exposed her to more people.
