Nicole Stirling Was Transformed Through 366 Days Of Running
My guest on the show today is a runner and a blogger.

Nicole Stirling
She has traveled to various countries and takes every chance she can to explore on foot.
It’s my pleasure to go a few easy miles with Nicole Stirling
366 Days of Running
Nicole’s history with running began in college after she put on some excess weight.
She began with walking 5k’s and progressed to running 10ks.
The idea for 366 days of running began as goal to run at least 3 kilometers every day during 2012 which happened to be a leap year.
Her goal of doing a run streak for an entire year was not without obstacles.
There were 3 occasions where her streak almost ended, but she managed to keep her success going.
As a result of running consistently for an entire year Nicole suffered fewer injuries.
Day 368 was the end of her streak.
Currently Nicole runs 5-6 days of the week and those runs are crucial for her to clear her mind.

Goals Arise From a Passion
Creating and more importantly sticking to a goal is not easy.
Nicole’s number one secret to success is to narrow down goals to ones that you’re passionate about.
You have to love a goal to make it happen.
A year ago Nicole began to head off the road and explore trails.
This newfound love of trails has spurred new goals that include more, “run-cations,” to other countries.
Nicole has learned some important tips during her travels which include:
- ALWAYS carry race gear in your carry on.
- Arrive at least a day in advance of any races.
- Be aware of what is needed to participate in races in foreign countries.
- Create detailed lists ahead of time of what you need to pack for the race.
- Most importantly take it all in and HAVE FUN.

More Than Just a Blog
Nicole began her blog originally as a way to stay more accountable to her goals.
Her blog 366 days of running has evolved to be a resource for runners.
The goal of her blog is to answer common running questions and to help other runners avoid making the same mistakes she did.
The most popular article to date is, “6 Tips To Wake Early For A Morning Run (And The Benefits).”
One of the 6 tips is when the alarm goes off count to 3 and jump out of bed.
The goal to becoming a morning runner is to not overthink getting up.
Running has become a constant in Nicole’s life after more than 8 years.
Nicole feels cheated if she misses an opportunity to begin her day with a run.
