Ras Vaughan Lives a Life Unapologetically Full of Failure and Success
Ras Vaughan is a veteran on the show for a reason.

Ras Vaughan
He is constantly pushing boundaries of what a human is capable of.
Not all of the challenges he attempts are successful, but his takeaways are always immeasurable.
Adventures In Africa
In 2017 all roads led to Africa for Ras.
He completed his first ordinary distance in a very unordinary way.
More familiar with ultra races, he ventured astray and completed the Township to Township Marathon in South Africa.
In true Ras fashion, the marathon was only the intro to his African adventures.

Always Say Yes to Life
Ras has made it his mission to always try to say yes to any adventure or opportunity that comes his way.
The African country of Lesotho is home to the Drakensberg Grand Traverse.
Due to his fascination with Only Known Times (OKT) he made the decision to attempt an unsupported double traverse.
Mother nature interfered with his endeavor in a big way derailing his goal.
The Grand Enchantment Trail was another unsuccessful challenge yet again halted by the weather.
Over the years Ras has learned that these perceived “failures” are part of a bigger lesson.
Even when the challenges end in heartbreak, the incredible and intense moments more than make up for it.

“UltraNeering”
Ras has combined his ultra running talents and mountaineering skills to conquer the Mount Rainier Infinity Loop.
He and a friend were the first to complete the loop – only known time (OKT).
The biggest lessons his successes and failures have taught him are:
- Take Risks
- So much behavior is motivated by fear
- Learn to evaluate the situation, and not let fear be a factor
- Failure is a badge too
The adventure begins when things aren’t perfect.
