Susie is no stranger to obstacles.

Any one of the issues she has encountered may have stopped the average person, but Susie is not average.

Injuries are a common occurrence in the running community. Susie is no exception.

She bravely shared what weeks and months off from running due to injuries, infertility (now pregnancy), and Crohn’s disease has taught her.

  • Everyone heals differently.
  • Bone injuries don’t respond the same way every time and tips on how to detect them.
  • Focus on what you CAN do.

How Fertility Struggles Parallel Running

Being a runner unknowingly prepared Susie for IVF.

Running and IVF are similar in that you can do everything right and still not get the result you want.

Another parallel between the two is to “run your own race.”

Comparison, whether in running or in life, is not healthy and won’t change things.

Coaching Tips

  • Make good choices. Know when to push or back off whether in racing or training.
  • Don’t use music in a race unless you need it.
  • Intervals are not to be feared and can work wonders.
  • Treadmill tips that include hill training.
  • How walking/running backwards can help revive a race.
