I first “met” today’s guest out on the trails at the Bear Bait Ultras when she flew past me 20-something miles into the race.

Turns out she was on her way to winning the 50 miler that day and setting a new course record in the process.

She enjoyed the slightly shorter distance, and actually said that she was more confident going into the Cherry Blossom race because she’s run 10 miles so often in training for longer races. Read more

Shortly after she started running, she decided that she wanted to run a race in every state, and she’s a lot farther ahead on her quest than I am on mine!

One of her secrets to knocking off a handful of states most years is to run in the Mainly Marathon series where there are races in different states every day over the course of 5-7 days. I’ve actually looked into these races before, and kind of disregarded them, but after our chat she’s definitely reopened my eyes to the idea of running several marathons in several states over the course of a week.
