QT: How to Eat Well When Traveling for a Race


One of the biggest race day fears for many runners is an unexpected bout of GI distress.

Because, seriously, no one wants to be this guy.

When we are at home, it’s easy to control the food we eat because (hopefully!) we are preparing it ourselves!

When traveling for a race, you may find yourself eating more restaurant meals during race weekend than you do in the entire training cycle leading up to the race.

Joining me on today’s quick tip episode are two folks that know a thing or two about traveling to races and eating well while doing so.

Tom got into running in one of the most unique ways I’ve ever heard: to impress his boss!

Tom’s boss was a runner, and he was invited to join the boss for a few miles at lunchtime. Tom accepted, and it didn’t take long for him to feel worn out. But he stuck with it, and soon he was hooked.
