Brae Blackley is someone that I want to be like when I grow up.
Like me, Brae left a cooperate job to start her own business around her passion for good health and running. As the Zooma Women’s Race Series has grown, she has been able to impact, support, and motivate 1000s of runners along the way.
And if I can have a similar impact over the next decade, that would be pretty awesome!
Our chat today covered the transitions from working as a lawyer to starting her company, the future of running, the future of Zooma, and a whole lot more!
Here are some of the highlights from our chat.
- She enjoyed marathon training more than the actual race
- Low tech runner: No phone, no headphones, no GPS
- Ran cross country in high school on a really good team
- Leaving the corporate world to start the Zooma Womens Race Series
- Is the running boom over?
- Future plans for Zooma
- Zooma Life Radio podcast
- Possible future running plans

The Facebook group is still small, but it is a great way to connect with fellow runners and foster community amongst like minded individuals. The email group is THE way to stay up to date about future guests on the show, as well as getting some other freebies and offers that aren’t available to anyone else.
