Kyle Gorjanc from Salty Running is Back for an Episode of Her Own
Today I’m catching back up with Kyle Gorjanc for a few easy miles.

Kyle Gorjanc
Kyle, as you may remember, is the head of all things tech at Salty Running.
And like me, she’s got an eye on qualifying for Boston. Though she’s quite a bit closer to her BQ than I am to mine!
The Many Attempts at Becoming a Runner

Kyle Gorjanc Mid Run
For Kyle, forming the running habit took some time.
Kyle would get into running and begin to see the benefits, but for one reason or another, she didn’t stick with it.
Then one day, a friend decided she was going to get serious about running and recruited Kyle to join her.
While her friend didn’t stick with the plan, that was the time that Kyle decided to stick with running.
And she hasn’t looked back since.
Some Marathon Struggles
As I’ve talked about several times with several different people, running (and racing) the marathon is really tough.
Kyle shared some stories from her early marathons when things didn’t exactly go according to plan.
Between a story of a serious bonk and tales of being paced by her sister (who was 8 months pregnant at the time!), there have certainly been some struggles along the way.
Preach Sister!
One thing that I’ve talked about often, yet haven’t heard much from other runners, is the power of the mid-race orange.
I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about the Vitamin C goodness of an orange that really helps propel me during a race.
And Kyle agrees!

Seriously y’all, don’t knock it til you try it!
