Kyle Pietari Finds the Time to Train and Be Among the Best of the Best
Today I’m running a few easy miles with an athlete that knows how to balance competing at the highest level and a very busy life.

Kyle Pietari
Kyle Pietari is an ultra runner that is no stranger to the podium.
He is also a lawyer, husband, and father of three young kids, so saying he is busy in all areas of life may be a bit of an understatement!
Starting Door to Door
Kyle started running by working a paper route in Minnesota, and the rest is history.
The hard work he put in delivering papers while running helped Kyle build the base that led to his rapid rise in the world of ultra running.
Having the motivation to run has been the most crucial element to his consistent training.Kyle found a way to introduce running into every aspect of his life, including his morning commute.
Kyle also has found ways to introduce running into nearly every aspect of his life, including his morning commute.

Parenting Win
Being there for his three kids is also very important to Kyle.
And that means that he has had to find ways to train while also spending time with his kids.
Kyle has logged over 1000 miles while pushing a jogging stroller, and he has also climbed on a treadmill set to a 30% incline while his kids are strapped to his chest! #dadofthemillenium

When running Western States this year, Kyle injured his ankle in the 7th mile of the race.Somehow he found a way to finish 10th under this kind of stress.
Somehow he found a way to keep going for another 93 miles, and ended up with the coveted top-10 finish which guarantees him entry into next year’s race.
