Scott Riecke is an Ordinary Marathoner that is Anything But Ordinary
Scott Riecke is on the show today for round two.
A lot has happened since we first chatted, including not one but two Ironman finishes, marriage, another addition to the family, and a thriving podcast.
Today we are going a few easy miles to discuss all that’s changed since our first chat.
Scott has completed two Ironman triathlons and is currently training for his third.
Training for an Ironman requires an investment to get into shape, there is no “faking” the race.
He finished his first race after a year of training feeling as though he could have given more.
Shortly afterward he completed his second one and pushed even harder, leaving it all on the course.
Triathlon training requires various modes of cross training.
The focus on multiple sports assisted in making Scott a faster runner.
Fitting in multiple workouts a day multiple times a week can be a challenge.
Scheduling workouts has helped with consistency.

Social media has played a large role in Scott’s continued success.
His podcast, as well as the virtual races he was involved in creating, have flourished due to the help of social media.
The Million Moo March and The Ordinary Marathon were two virtual races that Scott was a part of.
Virtual races are becoming more popular for a variety of reasons:
- Oftentimes there is a charity aspect involved.
- People are empowered to be more active.
- The event can be a good time.
